I grew up in rural southwest Oklahoma then graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in May 2005. During pharmacy school and for about a year after graduation I worked for a chain pharmacy, which I quickly learned was not the right career path for me. I was then offered a position at R&S Drug Stores Inc in 2006. While working as a staff pharmacist I developed a successful immunization program for the company. In 2010 I became a partner in the company, and January 2017 bought out my partners. I now own 2 retail independent pharmacies, R&S Drug Store #1 and R&S Drug Store #3, and 1 closed door-LTC independent pharmacy, R&S Drug Store #2. Over the years I have been active in local organizations such as Kiwanis, Ag Boosters, and served on the board for Main Street Duncan. I have provided drug awareness training for the teaching staff at one of our local schools. I have been a mentor for McKesson’s national Women in Pharmacy Initiative and was featured in Smith Drug’s spotlight on Immunization Programs. October 2022 I will be presenting as a CE Speaker at the NCPA Annual Convention in Kansas City. I continue to be an advocate for patients by attending campaign events on both sides, to voice the importance of a future for independent pharmacies.
