Eric Winegardner graduated from the university of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in
1992 and opened Eric’s pharmacy in Shawnee in 1995. Eric served as the president of
OPHA in 2007-2008. Eric’s Pharmacy serves as a preceptor sight for the University of
Oklahoma College of Pharmacy and Southwestern Oklahoma State University College
of Pharmacy. He was awarded the “Preceptor of the Year” award from OU in 2012. He
has been an active volunteer at the Pottawatomie county volunteer health clinic since its
inception in 1997 and is currently PIC of the pharmacy. He served 7 years on the board
of the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority Drug Utilization Review Committee. He also
chairs the Pottawatomie County 911 Trust Authority Board. He enjoys travel and
learning foreign languages. He speaks fluent Spanish and has also studied Italian and
French.
In 1991 he married his college sweetheart Demita (a structural engineer) and they have
three children. Sean, the oldest, is a pharmacist and works at Eric’s Pharmacy. Brooke,
a graduate of OCU, lives in Chicago and works at a dance studio. Jill, the youngest, is a
student at Baylor University studying marketing and will graduate in 2023.
