Dr. Trang Nguyen was born in NhaTrang, Vietnam, and grew up in London, Ontario, Canada. She went to John Paul II Catholic Secondary School and attended the University of Western Ontario. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree (Scholar’s Elective Program) in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, and a Biochemistry minor in 2002.

In 2004, Dr. Nguyen attended the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy and graduated as a Doctor of Pharmacy with Special Distinction. She worked as a clinical staff pharmacist at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center from 2008 to 2010. Since 2010, she has been working full-time as a community pharmacist.

Dr. Nguyen completed The Delivering Medication Therapy Management Services, Patient-Centered Diabetes Care, and Pharmacogenomics Certifications from The American Pharmacists Association. In addition, she completed the Pharmacogenomics Continued Education Certification from The Mayo Clinic, the Evidence-Based Health Coaching Training for Healthcare Providers from The National Society of Health Coaches, as well as the Brain Health Coach Certification from The Amen Clinics.

Dr. Trang Nguyen is a Board-Certified Geriatric Pharmacist. In 2017, she found Mimosa Health LLC. Her mission is to provide expert advice on the use of medications by older adults, promote healthy aging, and educate seniors about polypharmacy as well as medication safety. Currently, she is a consultant pharmacist for Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities, and Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. Dr. Nguyen is a fellow-in-training at the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine.

She is a radio host of “The Medicine Cabinet” show which is broadcast every other Saturday at 5:30 pm Central Time from The Vietnamese Public Radio Station in Oklahoma City. She is the author of “Medication Management for 50+” book which was published in 2018. In addition, Dr. Nguyen has multiple medication safety seminars for seniors at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute of Oklahoma State University, MAPS 3 Health and Wellness Center, Sunbeam Family Services, VillagesOKC, and local churches.

Dr. Nguyen is also a member of The American Pharmacists Association, The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists,  and The Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine.
