With today’s changing healthcare needs, pharmacists face a myriad of professional challenges that often impact legislation. OPhA is the only pharmacy association in Oklahoma lobbying for your rights at the state capitol. Collectively, our voice is heard with support of three full-time lobbyists, including The Taylor Group Inc., who has successfully represented the Oklahoma pharmacy profession for more than a decade.
Together, OPhA is represented at more than 40 legislative events each year. We actively distribute Political Action Committee (PAC) dollars on your behalf to legislators and party caucuses. We also work tirelessly to tell your story alongside national associations such as: National Community Pharmacy Association (NCPA), National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations (NASPA), American Pharmacists Association (APhA), and National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS)
In addition to building valuable relationships with legislators, OPhA serves as your political watchdog to ensure pharmacy legislation is crafted to appropriately represent our profession now and in the future.
The PAC is a political committee organized for the purpose of raising and spending money to elect legislators who support health care issues affecting our profession. It is the best way to get your voice and issues heard at the state legislature.
100% of your personal contributions go directly to legislator campaign funds. The donations are strategically distributed to those legislators that are "friends" of our profession or who are in position to have an impact on our issues. The recommendations for PAC fund distribution come directly from the lobbying firm hired by OPhA and then are voted and approved by the PAC and legislative committees of OPhA.Funds are only used for campaign contributions. They are NOT used to support lobbying fees or any other administrative functions of OPhA.
Click here to donate. You can make a one-time personal contribution or sign up for automatic monthly payments. Even small amounts of $25-50 per month can have a tremendous impact if we all donate. Think of it as taking your profession to dinner once a month. As a reminder, a donation must be from personal funds and not corporate.Oklahoma Pharmacy PAC contributions or in-kind gifts are not deductible for income tax purposes.
